VR Chevrolet Camaro (2010): the UK's Camaro

Sat, 31 Oct 2009

By Jonny Smith First Official Pictures 31 October 2009 20:47 When GM uncloaked their Camaro retro remake at the 2006 Detroit auto show, the domestic audience understandably adored it. That muscle car concept is now a showroom reality, but any plans of bringing a right-hook version to South African, Aussie or Brit shores have been quashed – presumably due to low-volume sales and GM’s moth-eaten wallet.Much like a Mustang or Challenger, if you live in Britain and want a Camaro, you have to settle for a specially imported left-hooker. Come January 2010, when these rendered images of the VR Camaro will be a reality, UK customers won’t have to worry about doing any of the importation or UK-spec work.

British Motor Show first details

Mon, 17 Dec 2007

By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 17 December 2007 10:30 It may be a long way off on your automotive calendar, but next year’s 2008 British Motor Show looks set to be the biggest yet, with organisers expecting ticket sales to top the 550,000 mark. Housed at ExCeL London in the Docklands between 23 July - 3 August 2008, the show will feature more than 60 vehicle marques and 600 cars – including the global debut for the new Vauxhall Insignia and a preview of the new four-seater Lotus Project Eagle (mule for next-gen Eagle/Esprit chassis testing above). Although it’s still some eight months distant, over 80 percent of the stand space has already been sold, and the exhibition will also include the following attractions: • The Heritage Enclosure and Parade – a driving display providing the sights, sounds and thrills of supercars from the last five decades • Drift School – a chance for visitors to be driven sideways around a circuit by professional drivers • The Marine Experience – the British Marine Federation will display a line-up of luxury water craft as well as a programme of on-water entertainment • The Autoglym Supercar Paddock, a high-octane collection of luxury marques • The 4x4 Experience, a challenging terrain for testing the best of the off-road pack • Motor Theatre, a live-action stunt show Tickets to the Show will be on sale from February, with prices starting at just £8.

Cycling Ace Continues To Impress As He Aims For Le Mans Start

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

OLYMPIC cyclist Chris Hoy remains on course to make his Le Mans racing debut, despite narrowly missing out on the points in the penultimate round of the 2014 British GT Championship. His Nissan GT Academy Team RJN GT-R finished the weekend’s British GT race at Brands Hatch in 11th place, although this was an improvement on a mid-grid 16th place starting position for the two-hour race. Sharing the car with 2011 Nissan GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough, Hoy started first and battled to 11th place before handing the car over to the GP3 Series and Le Mans racer for the race to the flag.
