Mahindra XUV500 heading for Europe

Mahindra & Mahindra are India’s biggest maker of SUVs, but are perhaps best known in Europe for the Ssangyong brand, but they’re on a quest to be major car player in the rest of the world, not just India. That quest is behind their acquisition of failing Korean car maker Ssangyong and the attempt to grab what was left of Saab from the liquidators.

Kahn Design revealed their take on the Range Rover Evoque – the RS250 Vesuvius Copper – last month, but they’ve decided another take on the same theme is needed to showcase at Chris Evans’ petrolhead extravaganza – Carfest South. So this time we get an Evoque with a more appealing Dark Tungsten Metallic paint job with ‘KAHN’ lettering on the bonnet, new bumpers with mesh inserts, lower boot spoiler, chin spoiler, matt black highlights, gloss black boot trim, p[rivacy glass, big upper rear wing, diffuser and a nice set of 22" RS600 alloys.

An estimated 1100 Subarus drove from his home town of Lanark in Scotland to Prodrive's HQ in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Colin's dad, Jimmy McRae led the Scooby convoy on its nine-hour and 300-mile pilgrimage.
