Fiat Panda
Tue, 30 Aug 2011Fiat is poised to reveal an all-new Panda, the third generation of the successful city car that has been a mainstay in the company's lineup or the last 31 years. The new Panda is an evolutionary design that Fiat claims has ‘reached full maturity'. By drawing inspiration from the most up-to-date trends, the design team has softened the overall look of the car, which measures in a 3650mm in length, 1640mm wide and 1550mm high.
The Ultimate Golfer’s Car – The Garia
Tue, 08 Dec 2009The £14,500 Garia Golf Car I’m afraid we’d call it a Golfer’s Cart, but Garia – makers of what must surely be the most OTT golf cart in production – insist it’s a golf car. Or at least they do in all the bumph they sent us. Keen to point out that the Garia is “manufactured at the Valmet Automotive factory in Finland, manufacturer of the Porsche Cayman and Porsche Boxster” you soon start to realise that this isn’t going to be cheap.
BMW i3 Range Extender engine adds 10% to the price
Fri, 11 Oct 2013BMW i3 Range Extender engine adds 10% to the price The BMW i3 – BMW’s first foray in to a world of electric cars – was officially revealed in July – and due on sale in 2014 – and seems, by electric car standards, to be almost affordable. At a starting price of £30,680 – £25,680 after the taxpayer bribe for EV buyers – it’s no more expensive than other electric cars and does come with some clever technology – and the BMW badge – that will help it move out of showrooms. But as we reported as far back as 2011, the BMW i3 is to get a range-extender option – a small petrol engine that kicks in to recharge the batteries when they get low – which will make the i3 a much more practical proposition.
