2011 Toyota Yaris T Spirit & Yaris SR revealed
Thu, 16 Dec 20102011 Toyota Yaris gets two new models - T Spirit & SR The Toyota Yaris isn’t the coolest supermini on the block, but it does have a certain appeal and the benefit of being a proper ‘mini’ car – perfect around town. It even handles quite well, is well-built and has a surprising amount of room inside. Even with all that going for it Toyota are obviously expecting the New Year to be less than easy on car sales, so they’ve announced a couple of new models at the top of the Yaris range to tempt buyers with extra goodies for just a wee bit extra – or nothing at all.
Lotus Exige S Roadster Official: Price (£52,800) and Specs
Wed, 22 May 2013It’s the first properly good news from Lotus for a while, and looks a promising offering at the same price (£52,800) as the tin top Exige S and, remarkably for a convertible, actually weighing less than the hard top – although by only 10kg. The Exige S Roadster gets the same 3.5 litre V6 as the coupe which means 345bhp, 295lb/ft of torque and a 0-60mph of a very respectable 3.8 seconds, but it does lose the coupe’s rear wing and front splitter for better airflow. The folding roof on the Roadster is a manual affair, but Lotus say fresh air motoring is just ‘Two clicks and a roll away’, so the manual roof is probably the best – and lightest – option.
New Jaguar XJC – the Coupe
Tue, 14 Jul 2009Jaguar already has a new Jaguar XJC on the drawing board – a coupe version of the new Jaguar XJ The last Jaguar XJC was in the ’70s, and was built on the SWB version of the Series II Jaguar XJ. In fact – by the time Jaguar got round to launching the XJC on to the market in 1975 – it was the only XJ that had the SWB, as all XJ saloons had moved over to the LWB as standard. A glorious-looking car – especially in ‘New Avengers’ guise as driven by Steed – it was plagued by the problems that beset British Leyland at the time.
