British sportscar manufacturer TVR is fighting for survival after crashing into administration over Christmas. Blackpool Automotive Ltd, TVR's manufacturing arm, has stopped building cars at the Blackpool HQ, its home since 1947. Around 250 members of staff stayed at home this week, waiting to discover their fate.

The new Kia Sorento will get its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show
The new Kia Sorento – a seven seat SUV – is longer, lower and more aerodynamic than the current model. Its length has increased by 18mm and its drag coefficient drops to 0.38 – down from 0.43 – which will help with economy. And Kia says that the new Sorento has been set up to be more road-biased, without losing any of the Sorento’s off-road ability.

Land Rover is set to unveil a new 4x4 concept at next week’s 2014 New York auto show, and not only will it preview the future design direction of an expanded Discovery-badged SUV range, but it’s packed with new off-road-aiding technology too. The design of the Discovery Vision concept remains under wraps until 16 April 2014, but ahead of its debut Land Rover has revealed the show car will feature its new Transparent Bonnet technology. Not quite.
