This auction is for a set of 4 Wheels and Tires (mounted and balanced). 245/40 ZR18 (high speed rated at 189MPH 97Y) Hankook Ventus V12 Evo (EXCELLENT performance tires). These wheels are M6 replica wheels made in Germany and the tires were purchased from TireRack. They were briefly mounted on our E39 528, however we have just sold the car to a dear friend recently as he was in dire need of a vehicle, and we decided instead of keeping these new high performance wheels and tires on the car to dismount them and mount the OEM 16 inch wheels on it as he has a bumpy commute. Rest assured, when I say they were 'briefly' mounted on the car, I mean they have literally been driven no more than 5-10 miles total since mounted before being dismounted. The wheels/tires are balanced. The wheels cost me $780 shipped and the tires $790 mounted & balanced ($1570). I am already taking a MASSIVE hit but would just like to offload them as they are taking up space. The package comes with both the standard blue & white BMW insignia center caps as well as BMW carbon fiber insignia center caps and M 3M stickers (so you can choose which one you prefer and also have an extra set). They look great on the E39 but will of course fit and look great on other BMW models with the 5X120 Bolt Pattern. Offset is 20mm so if you need a thicker offset you will probably want spacers to make them sit in line with the body. Local Pickup only. I do not want to ship these as they are heavy and awkward.

What's different about electric cars this time? A column by Kevin A. Wilson

Thu, 05 Mar 2009

Thirteen years after the General Motors EV1 was rolled out to cheers from advocates of a revolution in the way we power automobiles, those same advocates are out front cheerleading yet another revival of an idea as old as the automobile itself: Run 'em on batteries. Batteries aren't a source of energy. They're just storage units, a convenient means of making power portable.

Petrol sales hit record low in July

Mon, 01 Sep 2014

FEARS of a 4p-a-litre rise in prices at the pumps sent petrol sales crashing to an all-time July low. The rise turned out to be only 1.5p a litre but it led to July petrol consumption dipping to 1.44 billion litres, down nearly 100 million litres on June, according to Government figures highlighted by the AA. The AA said petrol retailers and others had predicted that the UK's average cost of petrol would rise by up to 4p a litre in July.
