Condition:Used

You are bidding on a matching pair of 1912 - 1913 Pierce Arrow kerosene side lights.  Good restorable condition, but not ready for your show car.  Pictures should accurately show condition. Variety of dents and dings; Scratches and chips to forward lenses; one side jewel is missing.  Wick winder is missing from one side.

Fabricated from from super heavy weight brass; chimneys screw on clean and are straight.  Superlative engineering and construction.  Original nickle plating.  Embossed on the rear of each reads "Pierce Arrow Motor Cars July 13, 1910.  Bottom of reservoir reads "Adams and Westlake Company Chicago - Adlake non-sweating Balanced Draw Lamps".  No evidence these lamps were ever burned.  Unfortunately, they are a victim of 104 years of careless storage.  Regardless, they are impressive lamps that still display exceptionally well.  Paper maker's inspection tag -- with hand-written date -- still affixed to inside of chimney.  Great for parts or restoration.  They are impressive lamps that would be great for any collection.

Will ship world-wide.  Shipping cost is exact; I do not mark up for packaging and handling.

Fiat 500L gets a helping hand from P Diddy (video)

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs gives Fiat a helping hand with the 500L Fiat has done well to convince a trendy section of American car buyers that the Fiat 500 is a funky, cute and desirable runaround – especially if you live in the city. But having effectively put all their eggs in the 500 basket, they have the problem of convincing sceptical US car buyers that the much bigger Fiat 500L is an appealing – and much more practical – proposition for families. So Fiat has enlisted Sean Combs (P Diddy, Puff Daddy, Diddy or whatever moniker he’s using this week) to give the Fiat 500L a bit of much needed profile.

Classic Lamborghini video surfaces

Mon, 26 Jan 2009

The Lamborghini of today is a far cry from the Lamborghini of old. Starting life as a tractor maker, Lamborghini cars came in to being when Ferruccio Lamborghini complained to Enzo Ferrari about the clutch on his new Ferarri. The dismissive response was that “the fault is with the driver, not the car”, and so was born Ferruccio Lamborghini’s resolve to build a car to take on the might of Marenello from his factory in Sant’Agata (incidentally, when Lamborghini took apart the transmission in question, he discovered is was the same unit he was currently building in to his tractors!).
