Land Rover Freelander 2 Review & Road Test: Freelander 2 SD4 HSE (2011) Part 2
Sun, 20 Mar 2011Freelander 2 SD4 Review Part 2 Ever since the V6 petrol engine quietly disappeared from the Freelander 2 some time ago – without fanfare or farewell – there’s been a bit of a gap in the Freelander range. Hobson’s choice on the engine front isn’t the end of the world, but a bit more oomph wouldn’t go amiss. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400 released
Wed, 27 May 2009Mitsubishi has released the fastest Evo in the UK market - the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400 And now it’s getting really serious. The 2.0 litre, turbocharged MIVEC engine in the FQ-400 will propel this four-door saloon to 60mph in around 3.7 seconds. That’s on a par with a Nisan GT-R, a Ferrari F430 and significantly quicker than an Aston Martin DBS.
GMC Granite concept (w/ Video)
Mon, 18 Jan 2010The biggest surprise at the 2010 NAIAS was GMC's Granite concept - a design that expands (or rather contracts) the truck/crossover brand's 'professional grade' philosophy to a compact hatchback aimed at urban hipsters and early adopters. Conceived by Frank Saucedo's Advanced Design team in California and then built at GM's Design Center in Detroit, the Granite combines the basic proportions of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB with a military/industrial feel inspired by the current G-Star and Diesel fashion lines. Watch the videos to the left to see the young international design team present the rationale behind the new concept, and read our opinion of the Granite in our 2010 Detroit Auto Show Highlights.
