1917 1921 Vintage Ford Model T Herbrand 3Z-647 Connecting Rod Wrench Tool

The wrench was recently obtained from a sale. The exact age is unknown.

I believe this is the off set rod connecting clamp screw wrench for the Ford Model T’s from 1917 through 1920.

I believe the wrench started out in 1911 as the number 2324, then in 1917 it was changed into the the beginning of the 3Z numbers as the 3Z-647, and in 1921 the 3Z numbers were changed to the 5Z series, and this wrench was re-numbered to 5Z-209 and continued until the end of production of the T’s.

The wrench is embossed on one side with 3Z-647 and the other side with an H in a Diamond logo, which was the Herbrand Tool Company.

The wrench is 10 1/8" long, with a 9/16” open end.

The wrench has is in good condition has most of all of the original black paint intact….. As with the vintage of the wrench, there is some normal wear, a few dings, dents and some light discoloration, all as noted from the photos.

The wrench would greatly enhance any Ford collection.

The Wrench is SOLD AS IS with NO RESERVE. email questions before bidding.

Caterham creates next car online

Wed, 05 Nov 2008

By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 05 November 2008 10:08 Caterham has turned to cyberspace to design its next model – the low-volume carmaker is calling on fans around the world to log onto a bespoke website to submit their ideas and designs for every aspect of the new Caterham, before ultimately voting on what makes it to the final vehicle. The website – www.splitwheel.com - will act as a forum, hosting blogs, articles and what Caterham calls ‘a Wikipedia-style user-edited knowledge base’ to turn user input into a workable vehicle design. A comprehensive voting system that covers all aspects of the car will then be initiated, and once the final specification is agreed a prototype will be produced with initial production slated for 2011.

Hamilton clairifies Vettel comments

Tue, 08 Oct 2013

LEWIS HAMILTON has been forced to clarify comments after suggesting Sebastian Vettel was boring Formula One fans. Hamilton voiced his frustration in the wake of Sunday's Korean Grand Prix as Vettel won his fourth successive race to stretch his championship lead over Fernando Alonso to 77 points. With Vettel now on the brink of his fourth consecutive world title ahead of this weekend's race in Japan, Hamilton likened the 26-year-old's domination to that of Michael Schumacher a decade ago.
