Up for auction is a beautiful inside hand painted Chinese snuff bottle. Hand painted on the inside of the bottle between January 2000 and December 2002 by a master graduate artist from the Yizi Academy in China. Measuring 3 1/4 inches tall and seal signed by the master artist. Complete with a hand carved spoon attached to the inside removable agate stone top. The bottle comes from my Uncles private estate collection and was special ordered by the him. This is not a mass produced bottle.Usually only two of any scene were ever painted. Inside painted or sometimes called reverse painted bottles are beautiful masterpieces that are painstakingly done inside the bottle through the small opening at the top of the bottle. The artist takes a fine sliver of bamboo, used as a paint brush, bends one end and applies the color of paint needed at that time. They then insert the bamboo sliver into the top of the bottle and paints on the glass inside the bottle. Hours and sometimes days go into a single painting. One mistake and the bottle is destroyed. The artwork is incredible to say the least. Please note that the bottle is not meant to hold anything due to the fact that the painting might be damaged if it would come into contact with liquids or other matter. ---   se

Panamera delays mean free luggage for owners

Mon, 23 Nov 2009

The first nearly 200 buyers of the Porsche Panamera in the United States are getting a little something extra--the Porsche luggage set, priced at $3,580--for free. Porsche is giving away the specially designed luggage because the first batch of Panameras are late--they've been held at the ports while a problem with the car's key and software have been fixed. The expectant owners were sent a letter from Porsche explaining the delay.

Thu, 20 Oct 2011

Is it a sickness to love weird Japanese sport compacts from the era of Pseudo Echo and Iran-Contra? Cars that nobody but a few scarily obsessed single-interest types would even recognize? It sure is, but not to worry--there's no better reason to hurl yourself headlong into the Lake of Fire that is Project Car Hell.

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster: Easy remove roof (video)

Tue, 13 Nov 2012

We have video of the new Lamborghini Aventador Roadster at a private reveal in Miami showing that the roof really is easy to remove. It’s a great-looking car – even if it’s more Targa than Roadster – and comes with the same 6.5 litre V12 and 0-62mph of just 3.0 seconds as the coupe. More importantly, especially if you get caught in a shower, the Aventador Roadster actually has a roof that can be removed and re-fitted in quick sticks.
