We recently acquired a large trailer load of classic car parts from a lifetime collector and this pair of mirrors was in that batch. These are for the older cars and they are the spare tire sidemounted mirrors. He didn't say much about this pair of mirrors, but I am pretty sure they are reproductions. He also had several original mirrors there, but these are different so I think they are repops. Anyway they are beautiful. The base of them is 6 inches long and 3 inches wide, and the mirror head is 4 1/2 inches in diameter. They both have the chains for fastening, the latches, a lock, and both of them also have the key for the lock, so they are ready to install on your car. The mirror glass is perfect in each, and the edges are beveled. The chrome is gorgeous on both, but the backside of each mirror has some very tiny white spots on them, so they aren't absolutely perfect. Winning bidder pays only $10.00 shipping anywhere in the lower 48 United States. Int'l extra. Good luck!!

Bentley SUV: Redesign already under way

Sat, 10 Mar 2012

Bentley SUV already being re-thought It seems the reception for the EXP 9 F – the Bentley SUV ‘Truck’ – has already got Bentley designers back to the drawing board for a redesign. The Bentley SUV at Geneva – the EXP 9 F Concept – was a real let-down. It was as if Bentley’s designers had been given a single line brief from history and tasked to make Ettore Bugatti’s criticism of Bentleys as ‘The World’s fastest trucks’ come to life.

Automakers try to stop increase in ethanol limit to 15 percent of gasoline

Mon, 11 Oct 2010

Automakers are seeking to head off an EPA ruling that would allow gasoline to contain 15 percent ethanol, up from 10 percent now, and they've won some bipartisan congressional support. The two main automaker industry lobbies have argued that the U.S. Department of Energy has done insufficient testing to assure that gasoline containing up to 15 percent ethanol won't harm vehicles.

Next Dodge Viper will shed some rough edges

Fri, 18 Nov 2011

Little by little we're getting a clearer picture of the next-generation Dodge Viper SRT10. During a conversation with Dodge boss Reid Bigland at the Los Angeles auto show, Bigland told me the redesigned Viper "will appeal to a broader segment of the market." The car is expected to debut in 2012 but is not likely to appear at the Detroit auto show, he says. Today's Viper is essentially a street-legal race car.
