Honda S660 Concept revealed – the Honda Beat returns
Wed, 23 Oct 2013The Honda S660 Concept (pictured) will debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show It looks like Honda is making a return to the Kei car with the arrival of the Honda S660 Concept ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show next month. The Kei class of car in Japan is small (less than 3.4 metres long) and comes with a raft of tax breaks for buyers, but despite it being designed just for Japan it’s gained a cult following round the world, and now the Honda Beat for the 21st century has arrived in the form of the S660 concept. The S660 Concept – it gets the required maximum 660cc Kei engine limit – is a mid-engined open top roadster that manages to deliver 64bhp from its 3-cylinder engine which, with a weight under 900kg, should be reasonably lively.
EBay exotic: 1971 Maserati Indy
Fri, 29 Apr 2011In honor of the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500, we bring you this lovely red 1971 Maserati Indy. Styled by Vignale, the Indy served as Maserati’s four-passenger business express from 1969 to 1971, powered originally by a 4.2-liter V8 and later by 4.7- and 4.9-liter versions of the Ghibli powerplant. This Oregon-based Euro-market example has a five-speed manual gearbox and power steering, and the owner of 20 years claims to have had a lot of expensive-sounding work done over the past few years.
Canadian Grand Prix: Vettel takes pole ahead of Hamilton
Sat, 08 Jun 2013Hamilton’s Mercedes (pictured) is in 2nd place for tomorrow’s Canadian Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton may have managed to make it four front rows in a succession, but it’s Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel who has taken pole position in a rain soaked Montreal for tomorrow’s 2013 F1 Canadian Grand Prix. Early on in qualifying Hamilton and Rosberg dominated in the Mercedes, but the Red Bulls started to show their pace and in Q2 they were at the top of the leaderboard. Felipe Massa managed to crash in Q2 and Button, held up in the pit lane whilst the accident was cleared, couldn’t manage to get across the start-finish line in time to do another lap, crashing out in Q2 and 12th palce on tomorrow’s grid.
