Up for bid is a vintage trunk hinge. Stamped on it is: ALEMITE, A-301975.  The mounting holes measure approximately 1 5/8" across from hole center to hole center.

Application: I'm not sure of the exact application. If anyone out there knows, please let us know.

Condition: This is in very good NOS / never used condition. The finish is nice and shiny. There are some light surface scratches. It moves smoothly in the hinge. The hinge piece has some very light bubbling on the surface finish. Nice piece.

Thomas Ingenlath: Volvo Concept C to end 'vanilla' design era [w/Video]

Volvo has promised a radical change in its future design language that will be embodied in its Concept C coupé, the first concept to be developed since head of design Thomas Ingenlath's appointment in July 2012. Our first look at the concept, which debuts at this month's Frankfurt motor show, comes from a video starring Ingenlath (see left). At first it seems to just show him sketching while he explains how some people see Volvo design as "vanilla" – nice, but not iconic or cutting-edge – but if we slow it down at around the 11-second mark, we get a preview of what we can expect.

McLaren 650S to make Geneva debut

McLaren Automotive The McLaren 650S will be the star of the British brand’s display at the 2014 Geneva motor show, it has been confirmed. At this stage McLaren has revealed little other than the name, and a close-up shot of the car’s badge. It says, however, that the 650S “takes learnings from both the 12C as well as the sell-out McLaren P1 and will be positioned between the two on McLaren Automotive’s supercar grid”.

Ford speed-limiter option becomes more popular in Europe

An adjustable speed limiter ranks high on the popularity list with Ford buyers in Europe. Ford says it sold more than 220,000 cars with the system last year on the Continent. The take rate has been particularly high on the Mondeo sedan (86 percent), the S-Max wagon (85 percent) and the Kuga SUV (83 percent).
