Customers less satisfied with run-flat, low-rolling resistance tires
Mon, 01 Apr 2013In non-April Fool's news, customers who buy cars shod with run-flat tires are nearly twice as likely to have to replace them as people with more conventional tires, according to a J.D. Power and Associates study. The poll also found that customers are also less satisfied with low-rolling resistance tires.
Chrysler is set to invest $500 million in Toledo Jeep assembly plant
Wed, 16 Nov 2011Chrysler Group plans to invest $500 million in its Toledo North Assembly Plant and hire a second shift of workers over the next year to build a new Fiat-based SUV for Jeep, as well as other vehicles. "This plant has been chosen to build the future Jeep SUV to replace the current Jeep Liberty that will be exported to markets all over the world," CEO Sergio Marchionne said at the plant Wednesday. "Jeep is at the heart of our plans to internationalize Chrysler, a process which is being accelerated by Chrysler's access to Fiat's distribution capabilities in Europe and Latin America." Toledo North is Chrysler's only assembly plant with only one shift of workers.
Henrik Fisker launches new luxury sports car company
Tue, 25 Jan 2005Henrik Fisker and Bernhard Koehler have announced the opening of a new luxury car company, Fisker Coachbuild, based in Southern California to appeal to the global market. The focus of the company will be on designing and manufacturing exclusive high-end sports cars, which will be limited to 150 units per design and sold under the Fisker brand name, with world-wide distribution. The first public unveiling of the new designs will be scheduled towards the end of 2005, with production to commence during the second quarter 2006.
