Mon, 08 Jun 2009By Peter Adams Motoring Issues 08 June 2009 14:00 It’s not often that the motoring world slickly merges with art, but Mobil 1 has made it happen. US artist David Macaluso has painted a portrait of Lewis Hamilton using oil not from a tube of paint, but from the sump of Hamilton’s F1 car. Exclusive: Spyker drop Peking-Paris D12 in favour of D8
Fri, 17 Apr 2009The Spyker Peking-Paris D8 will show at Frankfurt and cost just under £200k The Spyker Peking-Paris has been threatening to make its way in to production for what seems like a very long time now. However, Spyker has been beset by problems – mainly financial – for years, which has limited both their production and development capabilities, but recent investment from Russia has finally solved those problems, and Spyker is again starting to move forward. Cars UK has learnt that the clincher for the Russian investment was the investor’s love of the Peking-Paris, so with money in the kitty Spyker are pushing ahead with the car at speed.
People's Car Project concepts showcased
Wed, 02 May 2012Volkswagen is currently showcasing three of its vehicle and technology concepts created under the ‘People's Car Project' at this year's Beijing auto show. The Hover Car, the Music Car and the Smart Key concepts – created by users of the website, which has seen 33 million visitors – are just three of more than 119,00 ideas submitted, leading the project to be indefinitely extended as Volkswagen uses the findings to influence its future design strategy. The ‘Hover Car' is an environmentally friendly two-seater city car that, unsurprisingly, hovers above the ground.
