NOS genuine GM oil filler cap, part number 1304628.

This fits:

  • 1938 Buick Special, Century, Roadmaster and Limited (Series 40, 60, 80 and 90), with Regular air cleaner only (not Heavy Duty)
  • 1941 Buick Special, Super, Century, Roadmaster and Limited (Series 40, 50, 60, 70 and 90), but only some (see below)

In 1941, Buick did some changing during the model year with their engines, partly due to compound carburetion, partly due to octane problems (war-time), etc. As a result, some engines are essentially a closed combustion/crankcase type, while some are vented. What that boils down to for this cap is that it resulted in Buick having to list a range of engine numbers in their parts catalogs where this cap, and some other engine parts were used.

This is the list of engine numbers for 1941 that this cap was used:

  • Series 40 (Special) with single carb - before engine 4158776
  • Series 40 (Special) with single carb - between engines 4158999 and 4173506
  • Series 40 and 50 (Special and Super) with dual carb (compound carburetion) - after engine 4152147
  • Series 60, 70 and 90 (Century, Roadmaster and Limited) - after engine 4120000 PLEASE LOOK AND READ. NICE SHAPE. SOME BOXES MAY HAVE TORN OR MISSING FLAPS.  PLEASE LOOK AT MY OTHER NEW AND USED PARTS. YOU CAN CALL ME AT 620-338-3132 IF YOU NEED TO. IF YOU DO NOT SEE PARTS IN THE PHOTOS YOU DO NOT GET THEM.

    PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING...

John Entwistle’s Rolls Royce Silver Shadow ESTATE up for grabs

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

John Entwistle’s Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Shooting Brake (pictured) up for sale Rolls Royce has never made an estate car – or Shooting Brake, as posh estates (and modern wannabes) tend to be badged – but that hasn’t stopped well-heeled owners from Maharajahs to rock stars turning Rolls Royces in to hunting and shooting transport for almost a hundred years. Taking the finest creations of Rolls and turning them in to a bespoke shooting brake is not a cheap hobby, but if you fancy a bit of gentrified rock ‘n’ roll history, Bonham’s have got The Ox’s (that’s John Entwistle, the Who bassist, for the younger readers) customised Silver Shadow Shooting Brake up for grabs. The Ox had the Rolls turned in to a Shooting Brake by an unknown coachbuilders back in the 1980s to carry his Irish Wolfhounds, and when he died as a result of a bit to much nose candy his Rolls Royce Shooting Brake was bought by the current owner from Entwistle’s wife.

2013 SRT Viper packs devilish details

Tue, 22 May 2012

The 640-hp V10, the curvy fenders, heck, even the carbon treatments—there are enough spotlight features on the 2013 SRT Viper to outfit two or three sports cars of lesser pedigree. While the potent engine and the striking design are clearly the signature elements of SRT's macho machine, there are a few subtle design cues lurking inside for sharp-eyed enthusiasts. Let's call them Easter eggs, and they're intricate yet intriguing.
