1938 Catalog

B.S.A Cycles LTD., Birmingham,  England

This catalog features the Empire  Star Model M23

Motorcycle production at BSA began around 1906, at their factory  on Armoury Road in Small Heath, Birmingham UK. Early BSA models used engines  manufactured by outside suppliers. The first BSA motorcycle built entirely  in-house came in 1910, using a 498cc 3 1/2 horsepower single. It was around this  time that BSA began its signature forest-green livery with gold pinstriping.

BSA Motorcycles Ltd. was established as a  subsidiary in 1919. BSA began building v-twin engines for their motorcycles in  1921, starting with the 770cc BSA Model A.

Many Line Drawings to go along with the Descriptions and Specifications.

Watch the Corvette Z06 live reveal here

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

Chevrolet announced it will be video streaming the reveal of its much-anticipated 2015 Corvette Z06 from the Detroit auto show floor, and you can catch the whole event below. The preview starts at 9:30 am on Monday, January 13 and will also include the first official look at the upcoming C7.R Corvette race car. You may recall the spy photos of the Z06 we captured testing earlier this year, and the single teaser image Chevy released of the upcoming hi-po Corvette indicates some of the cosmetic changes.

The last manual-transmission diesel convertible we drove was the Volkswagen Beetle. It was a fine little cruiser -- “joyful” is a word we bandied about a lot. But a diesel Miata?

Aston Martin Lagonda SUV still moving forward

Tue, 10 Jul 2012

New reports suggest Aston Martin is still pushing forward with the Lagonda SUV, with underpinnings from the Mercedes GL. Last year we reported the Lagonda SUV was back on (although we’re not sure when it was actually off – just MIA) and that it was Aston Martin’s hope they could raid Mercedes parts bin for the underpinnings of the SUV, and take on the building of a new Maybach for Mercedes in the process. But as we now know, Mercedes has decided a Pullman S Class has more cachet (and less build cost) than  the glitter ball Maybach, so Aston Martin’s hopes of a nice profitable design and build deal evaporated with the last roll of the dice for the Maybach brand.
