Design Review: Audi Nuvolari quattro concept
Tue, 04 Mar 2003Hot on the heels of the Pikes Peak study at Detroit in January, Audi today unveiled the Nuvolari quattro four-wheel drive concept vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show. In contrast to the Pikes Peak crossover SUV concept, with the Nuvolari, Audi's designers have created a classic, high-powered 2+2 GT coupe. It's certainly powerful: a 5.0-litre V10 biturbo with FSI direct fuel injection with 600ps and a 0-100km/h time of 4.1 seconds means it's the most powerful roadgoing Audi engine ever developed.
New Range Rover ‘Ultimate’ and Range Rover Sport RS confirmed
Mon, 10 Mar 2014The Range Rover Autobiography Black (pictured) The arrival of the new Range Rover in 2012 pushed the Range Rover even more upmarket, with the £100k Range Rover becoming a norm and some buyers speccing their RRs way beyond that. But now it seems Land Rover are starting to ready themselves for the inevitable arrival of Bentley’s SUV in the next couple of years (and probably and SUV from Rolls Royce too) with an even higher spec model.
Concept Car of the Week: Alfa Romeo BAT 7
Fri, 31 Aug 2012This week sees the Concept of the Week title go to Alfa Romeo and Bertone for their collaboration on the Alfa Romeo BAT 7, the second addition to the BAT series that began in 1953 and finished in 1955. First seen at the 1954 Turin motor show, this wildly futuristic ‘dream' car came about after Alfa Romeo contacted Giuseppe "Nuccio" Bertone of the Bertone carrozeria to commission three concepts with the lowest possible drag coefficient. The cars were named BAT for "Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica." Built upon the Alfa Romeo 1900 chassis, the BAT cars featured large rear bumpers and curved fins, and the concepts achieved a drag coefficient of just 0.19 - an impressive result.
