Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States

This is an original heavy diecast 3-piece grill not an aluminum reproduction. The chrome is not too bad and polishing would help it. The bottom of the right side piece is broken and held on with two hose clamps. If I personally needed this grill for a car of mine I would form around the broken sections and carefully try to melt them back together from the back side. If not formed around, the base metal will melt into a puddle. All these early die-cast grills are getting very tough to find in good condition and maybe the two better pieces will complete a grill assembly for someone that has a good right side. I have nothing else that I know of for '38 Dodge car with the possible exception of instruments. Please look the pictures and description over carefully and make sure this is the one you want before you bid. If sold these will be sent Fedex Ground. Shipping amount includes recycled box, careful packing, shipping to lower 48 and insurance,no other fees or costs. Anyone in Alaska,Hawaii or Puerto Rico that wants these,I will ship USPS same price.

Vauxhall launches new extended used car warranty

Mon, 05 Nov 2012

Vauxhall has launched a new extended warranty for use cars, available for cars up to 70,000 miles for one, two or three years. Two years ago, Vauxhall launched its Lifetime Warranty for new cars, spurred on by warranties from the likes of Kia and Hyundai, offering buyers long-term peace of mind – and which was actually a 100k mile warranty rather than a lifetime one, but a welcome assurance for motorists nonetheless. Now Vauxhall are extending their enhanced warranty offer to use car with the launch of an extended warranty aimed to give owners of used Vauxhall’s a similar level of cover to new car buyers.

Michael Schumacher vs the Nurburgring rollercoaster

Michael Schumacher vs the Nurburgring rollercoaster By Ben Barry First Official Pictures 17 July 2009 13:03 Michael Schumacher still holds the Nürburgring GP circuit’s lap record (1:29.468 back in 2004), but he’s never left the startline faster than he did last weekend – when he was strapped into the world’s fastest rollercoaster, subjected to 4.5g at launch and accelerated up to 135mph along 1212m of track. The rollercoaster – originally planned to open in Easter 2009 as part of a €215 million expansion plan – finally got the champers treatment at the German GP, and runs right next to the race track’s start/finish straight before spearing off into a number of tortuous twists and turns. How did the ’Ring people manage to get the former F1 world champ on board?

Concept Car of the Week: Oldsmobile Aerotech (1987)

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

In late 1984, Oldsmobile management had so much confidence in the potential of its new inline four-cylinder engine Quad 4, that a small team was assigned to the creation of the Aerotech, a research vehicle designed to demonstrate the engine's performance by setting a new world speed record. Ed Welburn, then assistant chief designer, was mostly working on the 1988 Cutlass Supreme but his passion for race cars made him the ideal candidate to be handed the assignment by Oldsmobile 2 studio's chief David North. Inspired by Le Mans racers such as the Porsche 917LH and Jim Hall's Chaparrals, he designed a long, flowing car that immediately seduced design director Chuck Jordan and GM management.
