Cast iron.  These are NOS Ford replacement heads for 100 HP engines 1939-41 Truck and Mercury.  The original heads that came with the original engine were 99T-6049 (right hand) and 99T-6050 (left hand).  With the replacement heads, the 6049 was discontinued and 99T-6050 is used on both sides.  These heads could also be used as replacement on 1946-48 Ford and Mercury passenger and 1946-47 pick-up and truck.  Due to weight, the heads will be shipped in separate Large Flat Rate boxes.

Rearview cameras may become mandatory

Rearview cameras may become a mandatory feature in all passenger cars by 2014 if US Congress approves a rule submitted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Auto safety regulators have taken the decision to submit a final rule to Congress after figures emerged from non-profit group KidsandCars.org that stated that two children die and about 50 are injured every week when someone accidentally backs over them in a vehicle. In one quite shocking public-service announcement KidsAndCars.org showed that 62 children could fit behind a large SUV without being visible to the driver in any of the mirrors.

Nissan has revealed that it plans to install an electronic steer-by-wire system in to its Infiniti models in 2013. As car makers seek to squeeze every last fraction of a mile out of their cars to hit economy and emissions targets, computer control of many of a car’s functions are controlled by computer, which means the official tests for economy and emissions can be guaranteed to produce predictable results. Now Nissan are to take electronic steering to its logical conclusion by eliminating any direct connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels (except in an emergency) with the first fly-by-wire steering system in a production car.

Fifth-generation BMW M5 teased in new video

BMW is preparing a fifth generation of the high-performance M5 sedan. We expect to get a turbocharged V8 making about 550 hp and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. BMW plans to roll out the new M5 at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
