Jenson Button drives the McLaren P1 up the Goodwood hillclimb (video) UPDATED
Sun, 14 Jul 2013Jenson Button drives the McLaren P1 (pictured at Goodwood) up the hillclimb Update: We’ve added an extra video of the McLaren P1 going up the hillclimb that shows more of the actual run (below) It’s all Goodwood FoS this weekend – hardly surprising – and now we have video of the McLaren P1 in action up the hillclimb. McLaren roped in their F1 star, Jenson Button, to get behind the wheel of the P1 for its debut on the Goodwood hillclimb, but we get more of the Jenson talking head than we do of the P1 in action. Still, Jenson’s an affable and entertaining chap, and we learn that his daily driver is currently a company car – the McLaren 12C Spider – which he keeps in his garage in Monaco.
Top Gear’s James May crashes
Thu, 01 Oct 2009James May has a mishap with a hot air balloon and a caravan in Cambridgeshire But now it’s Captain Slow’s turn to haveĀ a bit of a coming together, Appropriately, considering his apparent aversion for the flamboyant and reckless, he managed to do it in a hot air balloon. Which means it was another of Top Gear’s mad races, this time with May in a caravan attached to a hot air balloon over the Cambridgeshire countryside, and the Hamster in a Lambo. The hot air balloon was meant to land on the village green at Eltisley in Cambridgeshire.
Teewave AR1 (2011) - Gordon Murray's roadster unveiled
Wed, 21 Sep 2011It may have a daft name - let's face it, driving a car called a Teewave does sound terrifically uncool - but Gordon Murray Design's latest creation is a very important vehicle. The Teewave AR1 not only showcases the Surrey-based company's design and engineering capabilities that elevate it to full design studio status, but also illustrates the very sweet spot where engineering integrity, lightweight material and want-one design meet. We joined design director Barry Lett at GMD on the day Project T32 was being primed for shipment to Tokyo for its public debut by Toray.
