Up for auction is a 1942-1947 ford truck heater. VERY RARE. As you can see one core tube and one stud is longer than the rest. The truck heaters straddled the firewall so that core tubes would not interfere with other components.  There is also a plug in the bottom of the core, which is exclusive to the trucks. This is exactly how I acquired the unit. I am selling my 42 truck and I do not need it (This was my parts heater and I just sold the other one two weeks ago). I do not know anything about the core or motor. The motor spins by hand (not tight). It is the original 4-wire reversible 6 volt motor.  The core tubes are bent up. I taped one so it would not fall off and get lost. It will need new core tubes, or repaired ones. The body is in decent condition especially the front. There is a bend (shown in picture) on the upper defroster outlet. Like I said, I do not know the condition of the core (if it leaks or not). It looks like it got dropped on the back because of those core tubes are bent. I would not be surprised if it leaked because it has more than likely been dropped, and has been jarred. If you have any questions, please ask. I will be happy to answer!

Ford's V6 gamble turbocharges sales of F-150

Mon, 15 Aug 2011

Five years ago, when Ford considered a push to put a pricey, premium V6 in more F-150s, it seemed like a dangerous gamble with a macho, full-sized pickup known for toughness and capacity. To many dealers and company insiders, it seemed like a bad joke. "I once said, "Bubba don't buy nothing but a V8, and we've got a lot of Bubbas out here,'" recalls Martin Gubbels, owner of Big Sky Ford-Lincoln in Torrington, Wyo.
