I got this part in hoping it was going to be correct for our 1947-48 Chrysler 6-cylinder applications. Learned from lots more research that this only covers 1941 and 1942 MOPAR cars other than Plymouth. We have no idea whether this would apply to any of the trucks those or any other years.
Here is what appears to be New Old Stock Flywheel (starter) Ring Gear specifically for 1941 and 1942 Chrysler DeSoto and Dodge with 6-cylinder engines. Identified for 1941 Chrysler model C28 and 1942 Chrysler model C34 from our Chrysler parts manuals, we do not have our own parts manuals on these years for DeSoto or Dodge. According to my transmission shop's Parts Manuals this should be for all 1941 and 1942 MOPARs except not shown to be used in Plymouth at all. This is one piece in brand new condition (without original packing) solid steel with original Part Number stamped on this ring gear. One opinion at another transmission shop is that this might be an aftermarket NORS (Replacement) part from his view of the slight roughness of the machined sides of the sides of the ring. But it bears the original P/N "864136" stamped in on side. I don't remember seeing any aftermarket parts of this nature which used the original manufacturer's actual P/N so I am more inclined to believe this is very likely an actual MOPAR part, though possibly a part made under contract for MOPAR applications. In addition to the P/N 864136 there is a stamped emblem of a doubled diamond between "H 5" possibly an actual manufacturer symbol of some kind. Pictured. Best as we can determine from available Parts Manuals was that Fluid Drive was not used in 6-cylinder MOPAR cars before 1941 and a different model Fluid Drive Assembly was used by 1946.
Never know about these things, so perhaps this P/N Ring could have been used late in 1940 or early 1946 but if your application is other than 1941-42 Chrysler DeSoto or Dodge cars, then make sure of your application before bidding. However, this is an extremely rare part; so you may do well to have this for your 1941-42 if there is any question about the condition of the starter teeth on your vehicle. The teeth pattern matches any other 6-cylinder starter MOPAR ring gears of this or near years that we have on hand, though the inside diameter is smaller than for other of these 6-cylinder rings. Rough measurements are 12 7/8" Inside Diameter and 1/2 " thick.

ADDITIONAL: have added last two pictures. 1) Picture of this 41-42 Ring Gear laying over 1946-48 Chrysler Fluid Drive unit assembled with its Ring Gear in place. 2) Picture of 41-42 Ring Gear moved ajar enough to show how much skinnier the later Ring Gear is than the this earlier. This came from discussion with others who are trying to help find just what applications this 41-42 Ring Gear may apply to. That seems to possibly include some marine or industrial applications somewhat later than 1942 such as 1946-49 or even later. Appreciate you input as we have not confirmed any specific applications yet other than we have stated in this listing above.
Tooth Counts on either this 1941-42 P/N 864136 as well as the 1946-48+ Ring Gear and our other earlier 6-cylinder MOPAR applications are all 146 Teeth count. Outside diameter of this 41-42 ring teeth is 14 5/8 inches on tape measure. Inside diameter of ring is right at 12 3/4 inches on tape measure. Don't have micrometer measurements.

The BMW M4 Convertible (pictured) revealed
We reported last month that the new BMW M4 Convertible would debut at this year’s New York Auto Show, and here it is ahead of that debut complete with trick folding metal roof, 425bhp and a price tag that just nicks over the £60k line. A direct replacement for the old M3 Convertible, the M4 Convertible will cost you just over £4k more than the M4 Coupe, but for the extra money you get the same car but with infinite headroom – and a big weight penalty. The new 3-piece metal folding roof can be tucked away in a mere 20 seconds at the flick of a switch, with better noise insulation than the M3 Convertible had and more room in the boot when the roof is down too.

According to Bentley, the new Continental GTC Speed is the fastest four-seat convertible in the world. The 202mph cabriolet uses the 616bhp powertrain from its Continenal GT Speed Coupe sibling, and we'll see it unveiled at the 2013 Detroit motor show. Just how fast is the new 2013 Bentley GTC Speed?
