1942-48 Dodge Desoto Chryler Convertible Courtesy Lights on 2040-parts.com
Champlin, Minnesota, United States
These are the little courtesy lights that go on each side in the rear seat of 42-48 Mopar convertibles. They are 4 1/2 inches tall. The design is actually for Chrysler, but they will fit any Mopar convert of the era (I have Desoto ones in my own Dodge convert.) These guys have some surface rust, and the bezels could certainly use re-plating, but everything is still structurally solid, with no badly rusted spots. The glass lenses are pristine too. They come with the sockets, and the sockets are the Chrysler ones with 2 wire connections for double pole bulbs.

Is Chrysler still American? Yes, it is
Mon, 17 Mar 2014Last week, we mentioned that the Secret Service was soliciting bids for a new presidential limousine. Among the criteria for a replacement for "The Beast" was the following: "This solicitation is restricted to Major Domestic U.S Automobile Manufacturers, who have their primary headquarters located in the United States of America." Well, with that came the suggestion that Chrysler -- now entirely underneath the banner of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles -- reports to somewhere far, far away from its nominal H.Q. in Auburn Hills, Mich.
Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel averages 62.9mpg on 2,884 mile U.S Road Trip
Tue, 15 Nov 2011The Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel completes its US Road Trip Last week we reported that Jaguar were taking an XF 2.2 Diesel to the US to drive from New York to Los Angeles to show just how economical the new, smaller engined diesel can be when driven on long, open roads. It was the U.S version of the economy run from Jaguar to Munich earlier this year, when economy-run specialists David and Alexander Madgwick managed to squeeze 57mpg out of the parsimonious XF. Which made us wonder if there was more to this run across the States than just another bash at shining the new XF’s eco-halo.
Jaguar B99 by Bertone: Still looks like Jaguar past to us
Wed, 02 Mar 2011The Bertone B99 Jaguar Concept – Still looks like a pastiche to us With Jaguar looking more than seriously at a New Small Jaguar to take the BMW 3 Series on at its own game, it seems almost certain Jaguar’s had a part to play in the design of Bertone’s take on a smaller Jaguar – the Bertone B99. Did they purposely ask Bertone to style a car that draws big cues from Jaguar’s own history? Or was that Bertone’s doing?
