1945 Kermath Willy Jeep Marine Engine on 2040-parts.com

Silver Springs, Nevada, United States
Condition:Used Brand:Kermath Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Engine(HP):61HP L134ci Flathead Manufacturer Part Number:KWBM 82 Stroke:4-Stroke

I have a rare, complete Kermath-Marine engine & gearbox; prop shaft assembly & prop; instrument panel; steering wheel & components.

Engine is none other than the iconic 'Go-Devil' Willys-Jeep MB, manufactured for military use towards the end of WWII, in 1945.

4 cylinder 134ci 61 HP L Head marined by Kermath and respectively named the Sea-Jeep '4' High Speed.

This Army surplus engine is in original, excellent, rarely used condition. It was rescued out of a rotted 16' Gar Wood DeLuxe. It was however, never installed. Placed there with intent and forgotten about.

The prop shaft assy is all bronze and includes the 1" shaft, Kainer & Co thru shaft log, Perko adjustable 1" prop strut, and 3 blade 11" RH pitch 5 prop.

The Kermath gauge panel is dated Jun 18 1946. It has a reverse tach from the AC division of GMC.

The Willys block casting is 638632. The red is covering the original WWII olive drab paint.
The S/N is MB510xxx. The Kermath gearbox data plate reads:
S/N: 461284
Code: KWBM 82
And next to this, the casting number/code is: 1X-71-P2

This classic beauty belongs in a boat. Many of your classic builders, including Chris Craft, offered this engine with their 1946-47 line up.

I also have the boat plans for a No. 36 Chum, designed by WD Jackson specifically for marined Jeep engines that I will email to buyer if they wish. If I had the skill set I would build this 15 1/2' boat and paint it to match my 1945 Willys! It would be a show stopper!!

What a way to honor those who served and show tribute to the war effort made at home too!

Item can be shipped via a pallet/freight.

Honda cutting production in Swindon again – 500 jobs at risk

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

Honda is cutting another 500 jobs in Swindon It’s only a year since Honda announced 800 job cuts at Swindon (which eventually was 550) and now they’re about to cut a further 500 as weak demand – particularly in Europe – sees the Swindon plant producing just half the cars it could. The plan is to cut shifts from 3 to 2 a day, which will result in the loss of 340 permanent jobs and 160 temporary ones, and production will be centred on just one production line to increase efficiency and flexibility. The Swindon Plant – which builds the Civic, Civic Tourer, CR-V and Jazz (and the Civic Type-R from next year) – has been hard hit by the slump in European sales in the last five years and, despite still strong UK sales, production levels of 120,000 cars a year – just half of the Swindon capacity – are not enough to sustain the current staffing levels.
