This AUCTION is for the USED 1946 1947 1948 FORD AND MERCURY MOTOROLA RADIO shown. The Motorola radio was offered by Ford but few of these radios are found today. This radio appears to be complete and I have provided photos of both sides of the interior with the panels removed. This radio box is in nice condition and the internal parts all seem to be in good condition for a radio of this age. The chrome on the front face is aged with some very light pitting but it can be greatly improved by cleaning and polishing. The box has stayed dry and looks good inside as seen in the photos. The outer case has nearly all of the original brown paint. The only thing to mention is that the volume control knob and shaft are missing. This radio is being sold as a candidate to restore. The official sketch reveals a bold grille with – you guessed it – the three-pointed star hogging centre stage, sweptback headlamps (Nissan GTR, anyone?), deeply scalloped side gills and a low, pillarbox-style glasshouse. Not forgetting, of course, the gullwing doors that ape the 1950s original. That it’s a mixture of unique fixtures and fittings, plus a couple of disappointing parts lifted from lesser Mercs.
BMW Art Car Collection premieres online with video tour

Photo and video content are included in the tour for each of the 17 art cars, at www.bmw-artcartour.com. "Whilst the originals are often exhibited individually at the BMW Museum in Munich or at significant cultural institutions throughout the world, people are now able to discover the BMW Art Cars in their entirety," BMW spokesman Bill McAndrews said.
Young drivers 'feel invulnerable'
Fri, 25 Apr 2014MORE THAN seven in 10 young drivers think they are better than the average driver despite the age group being 2.5 times more likely to be involved in a serious crash, according to a survey by Vision Critical and road safety charity the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) The IAM says that the average of 71% reveals a perceived 'invulnerability' in young people that is not reflected in the real world. Britain’s most confident young drivers are in Northern Ireland where an astonishing 87% think they are better than average. The facts tell a different story, with young drivers making up 26% of those involved in crashes.
