Here is a vintage original classic "V" spoke 1946-48 Lincoln steering wheel horn ring. The last six photos are for reference purposes only- no steering wheels are included. Of these reference photos, the first two show the 1940-41 Lincoln steering wheel, with a similar "half moon" ring on the 1941 model. The next three show original 1946-48 steering wheels, while the last shows a new custom steering wheel based on the original (where the horn ring looks like this one I've listed here).

This horn ring actually appears to be a original "half moon" design (like the 1949-50 Ford wheels), but from what I know of the 1946-48 Lincoln steering wheels, these were all a full circle- so it looks like the top part was broken off. Since these are a die cast "pot" metal (that's chrome plated), the metal can be polished, which is what it seems like has been done with this one- looks really good as-is and could be rechromed otherwise if looking to restore. New aftermarket replacement center emblems are available for these if looking to go with a custom appearance. The overall condition of this horn ring looks good for the age- the chrome still has a nice shine to the finish, but it does show some typical blemishes (as seen in the photos). NO RESERVE. Please see my other auctions for more VINTAGE HOT ROD PARTS AND MEMORABILIA to be listed shortly. Thanks for looking, Chris.

*AFTER THE AUCTION IS OVER, PLEASE WAIT FOR THE INVOICE TO BE SENT BEFORE PAYING SO I CAN CALCULATE THE CORRECT SHIPPING COSTS.

*I WILL STILL ACCEPT ANY FORMS OF PAYMENT AS ALLOWED BY EBAY.

*TO SAVE ON SHIPPING COSTS I WILL COMBINE AUCTION WINS (WHEN POSSIBLE), BUT I DO ASK THAT PAYMENT BE SENT ASAP ON THE FIRST INVOICE AND ANY CHANGES WITH COMBINED SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE MADE ON SUBSEQUENT INVOICES.

** I apologize for the following "fine print". I never bothered with this previously, but due to ebay's changes, it has now become a necessary evil:

SHIPPING: Ebay now requires the shipping calculator to be included in all auctions. Please be aware that although the costs listed will in most instances be basically correct, these are not always accurate. Any significant differences up or down will be adjusted on the invoice. The shipping costs listed here are estimates only (not always including the insurance/delivery confirmation costs), as I do not package items until after the auction ends. DUE TO PAYPAL'S POLICIES, I NOW REQUIRE INSURANCE ON ALL PACKAGES VALUED OVER $25.00 (AND DELIVERY CONFIRMATION ON ALL USPS PACKAGES), AS WELL AS DELIVERY SIGNATURES ON ALL PACKAGES VALUED AT $250.00 AND HIGHER. THESE WILL BE ADDED WITH THE SHIPPING COSTS ON THE INVOICE.

    INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS:

Please be aware that although both USPS first class and priority shipping may be listed in the calculator, all packages valued over $25 will need to be insured and only priority packages can be sent with insurance coverage. First class shipping is less expensive, and I will try to ship at the best rate possible, but often times the more expensive priority rate is the only one available when insurance coverage is needed.

How the Honda Civic got a fast makeover

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

Jay Guzowski was getting more nervous by the day. As senior product planner for the redesign of the 2012 Honda Civic, Guzowski was shepherding the compact car from design freeze to market. But as he listened to others around the American Honda conference table -- with a year to go before the car's on-sale date -- he heard a disturbing refrain: The upcoming Civic was not good enough.

Nissan X-Trail: news and photos of 2010 facelift

Tue, 03 Aug 2010

The most inconspicuous facelift award could be a hotly contested category if it existed. Vying for contention, for a second successive generation, would be this: the Nissan X-Trail. Over its 10-year cycle on the roads of Britain, the X-Trail has been subjected a minor nip-tuck facelift and even a complete makeover in 2007.

Autoweek's Vinsetta Garage premieres Jan. 3 on Velocity Network

Thu, 15 Dec 2011

The garage I'd frequent during my high school years, the one at which I sought insight, entertainment, camaraderie and escape, remains warm in my heart with memories. We have these places, you and I, where the people and things that mattered to us—my 1965 Ford Mustang notchback 289 and my buddy's 1963 Jaguar XKE—came to life. In Detroit, that mystical location was Vinsetta Garage.
