1946 47 48 49 Gray Marine Phantom Six 104 Complete 6 Cyl Flathead Century Wood on 2040-parts.com
Elverson, Pennsylvania, United States
Gray marine phantom six- 104 engine # D8151. From old dealer model number lists, the D in the engine # means that this is a 1946-1949 flathead engine.
The continental block tag is hard to read but I think it is F6220-0172 Head is cast with - F600A The transmission (on in back of the cover) 55618 and F4208 On the clutch are the following # 725-29 &472S605 Zenith up draft carbs Jabsco water pump This engine was in a century resorter when I bought it and started right up in the 1980's when brought here for a restoration project that never got underway but the engine compartment was under cover This is what I know about the engine- just pulled from the boat last week and engine oil is clean (no water), it turns over by hand AND cranks over with starter (6 volt). oil pump has good pressure because when cranking with starter, oil shot out of the oil pressure gauge port 15' accross my garage. The carbs will need to be cleaned and rebuilt obviously. One of the clamps to hold the distributor cap is rusted off. there is a rusted through hole in one of the oil cooler lines. The oil pan and trans have been off because they have been put back on with that blue silicone gasket material. I have not personally opened it up more that taking the spark plugs out and taking the trans cover off to check it out.(Looks clean) I am just trying to let you know everything I can so as not to misrepresent anything With a little work this engine should fire right up but know doubt the buyer will have a more extensive rebuild/restoration in mind. This engine is a great place to start because it is all there Check out the pics and feel free to contact me with question or more specific pics I am listing this as local pick up only due to its size and weight but can deliver or meet you half way if reasonable distance and/or for small charge. I will also be happy to help crate and pallatize if you arrange for freight shipping See pics for condition. The 1950's Century Resorter that these parts came from was purchased in the mid 80's in running condition but in need of a restoration. Thirty years later and I know it will never get done. The wood was no longer salvageable so I decided to piece out everything else to those who need authentic original Century boat parts for their restorations. Most items have century part numbers cast into them, but there are a few items that I am not sure were original to the boat and I will note that in the description for those items. I will be listing close to 50 listings (everything from rudder assembly to chrome pieces to gray marine phantom 6-104 flat head engine/trans) from this boat in the next week, so if there is something specific you are looking for, contact me and I will list for you sooner.
Most of the bronze is in need of re-chroming as you would expect.
Check out all the pictures for each listing. If you would like more I would be happy to take them for you and answer any questions you may have.
Hopefully these parts can help you build your authentic dream boat!!
Thank you for looking!

Post-World War II Japanese tin toys on display in New York
Fri, 14 Aug 2009During the rebuilding of Japan after World War II, a Japanese toy designer took a discarded tin can and molded it into an intricate model car. Just inches in length, it created a phenomenon in the 1940s and '50s in Japan called “buriki.” Buriki is derived from “blik,” which is Dutch for "tin toy." A collection of 70 tin-toy vehicles manufactured in Japan is currently on display at New York's Japan Society Gallery. The exhibit, called “Buriki: Japanese Tin Toys from the Golden Age of the American Automobile, The Yoku Tanaka Collection,” runs until Aug.
Porsche 918 Spyder gets its own website
Wed, 26 Jun 2013The Porsche 918 Spyder (pictured) now has its very own website It’s more than two years since the Porsche 918 Spider went on sale, but it’s now getting close to arriving in Porsche showrooms so Porsche has created a new microsite dedicated to all things 918. Since it went on sale, the 918 Spyder has been developed further and the production 918 will come with 4WD courtesy of its electric motors – one delivering 154hp (rear) and the other 127hp (front) – which, combined with 608hp from its 4.6 litre V8, promises 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds (and 7 seconds on just the electric motors) and on to 211mph. The new 91 microsite reveals Porsche’s self-imposed challenge was to beat the Carrera GT by at least 10 seconds on the Nurburgring, and there’s video of the 918 out playing at the Nurburgring, as well as plenty of photos and detail on exactly what the 918 offers.
