Offered here is a rebuilt 1946-48 Ford and Mercury radio manufactured by Detrola. It is original 6-volt positive ground. Also included is a copy of the installation instructions for your convenience. Servicing included cleaning and lubrication, replacement of all capacitors and necessary resistors, tested tubes and vibrator and RF alignment for optimal reception and sound quality. Any tubes that tested less than 80% were replaced. The radio plays very well with good sound and strong volume and all of the mechanics function, as they should including the station presets, station selections and manual tuning. As you can see in the pictures the chrome has a nice shine with quite a bit of light pitting. The lenses in front of the tone and tuning scales are new. The plastic discs on the original knobs are not cracked or chipped like they usually are on these radios. Overall this is a nice driver quality original radio that plays great and works great! California residents pay 8.00% sales tax. The radio will be shipped the day following receipt of payment.

Not happy to simply recreate the 850, he began with a whole new layout by placing the engine directly in front of the rear axle for a mid-engined layout.
