Up for sale is a new 1947 through 1955 Chevrolet GMC  horn 6 volt brush and contact..   IMPORTANT:  This is only for the 6 volt system due to the heavy internal mesh copper wire inside.  See photo on left side.  The non metal incased type (see photo on right side) now on the market is protecting the very fine wire for the 12 volt system.  It burns out quickly if placed with a 6 volt system!!    Do not buy these if a supplier says they fit both electrical  systems.  They probably have no idea what is correct!!!

CAFE standards set to rise to 54.5 mpg for 2025

Fri, 29 Jul 2011

President Barack Obama on Friday revealed ambitious plans to raise the corporate average fuel economy standard for cars and light trucks to 54.5 mpg by the 2025 model year, a landmark move that will dramatically remake carmakers' product portfolios and consumers' buying habits. Unlike the first CAFE standards passed by Congress in 1975, the Detroit automakers now publicly support the high requirements and have begun retooling their fleets to adapt the changes. “[This] represents the single most important step we've ever taken as a nation to reduce our dependence on foreign oil,” Obama said in a morning press conference.

The footage prompted a Government minister to warn drivers that "saving a few seconds on your journey is simply not worth it".

Ford to slash price of Focus Electric by $4,000 for 2014

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Ford will be reducing the price of its Ford Focus electric by $4,000 for the 2014 model year, InsideEVs.com is reporting. The 10 percent price cut will lower the starting MSRP from $39,995 (including a $795 destination charge) down to $35,995. This move by Ford is seen as an attempt to keep the electric car competitive since its release back in 2011.
