Up for auction this week we have what I believe may be for a 1947 Chevrolet big truck 20" 10 lug steel rim / wheel. The info stamped on the rim where the tire would set, is: 20 X 5.00 - S DISC 47 (47 is stamped on a slant) 4 WHEEL R.H. PAT. APPL'D FOR. The rim is very heavy weighing 62+ pounds. It is in good condition having only surface rust. There are two pieces of hang tag wire at some of the bolt holes. The tags are missing, but the wire is still there.  There is also part of a series on numbers visable on the front. Possibly this could be an NOS piece???  As stated, is is a 10 lug wheel and has a center hole measuring: 4 3/4" in diameter. I don't know if this is 100% Chevrolet, but it came from a garage cleanout of mostly vintage Chevrolet parts. I can ship it via UPS. It is not going to be cheap due to size and weight. I only charge actual shipping. so, if you have a problem with the shipping cost, complain to UPS not me. If you would like to come pick it up to save the shipping cost, you can.

Koenisgesgg Agera R BLT impounded by China’s customs

Sat, 13 Oct 2012

The one-off Koenigsegg Agera R BLT has been impounded by China’s customs officials as they believe it was being smuggled in to China. When we reported the Agera R BLT had been created, we also noted that it was already crated up and on its way to China for the delight and delectation of its new owner. Unfortunately, it looks like China’s Customs officers read the same news and were ready and waiting for the one-off Agera.

Volvo's autonomous car is boring enough to work

Fri, 16 May 2014

Volvo is a bit of an enigma. The Chinese-owned Swedish automaker releases a stunning concept from time to time, and we're often pleasantly surprised by the Volvos that enter out test fleet, but it hasn't done much to generate sales numbers -- or buzz -- in the North American market. Maybe that's because Volvo is too busy looking down the road to focus on selling cars now.

July 11: Visiting a rival

Sun, 11 Jul 2010

I will take it to work all week, including Wednesday when I go to Santa Monica to drive a Nissan Leaf electric car. I wonder how they'll take to seeing a competitor in the parking lot. Not far enough to worry about range, though I will look for a charging spot in Santa Monica.
