Used but cleaned & lubricated, coated with Eastwood Silver Cad Replication Coating, Tested (with video to prove it) and ready to bolt up to your classic 1948 - 1954 Packard 6V R-11 Overdrive Transmission! Delco-Remy p/n 1118132.

"Working End" not coated because existing plating fine and want to avoid tolerance build up.

One or two small imperfections in the sheet metal but they in no way affect the strong action of this excellent solenoid. Please see the video below of this solenoid in action! Guaranteed no DOA!

I don't believe these larger overdrive solenoids are reproduced as are the smaller ones, so if you don't have a spare, now would be a great time to pick up a great looking and great performing overdrive solenoid for your classic Packard.

This is a bolt-up, connect the wires and go proposition!

Pininfarina exhibit opens at the Museo dell’Automobile di Torino

Tue, 22 Mar 2011

The National Automobile Museum of Turin, Italy, has reopened its doors to welcome a bevy of Pininfarina models from past and present into its midst. The display takes on some of the milestone models of Pininfarina design and sees a wide selection of cars take up residence amidst the 200 others already on display at the recently renovated museum. Of the more desirable models being shown is a 1947 Cisitalia 202, the two seater berlinetta that has been described as 'moving sculpture' by Arthur Drexler, the highly influential curator and director at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The Hamster wrecks his Morgan!

Sun, 09 Aug 2009

Richard Hammond has wrecked his Morgan Aeromax in a prang in Gloucestershire The Hamster was apparently on his way back from a flying lesson (look out for the Hamster and Captain Slow in flying washing machines in the next series of Top Gear, then) when a car braked sharply at a roundabout at Over, in Gloucestershire. The resulting four car shunt – with the Hamster at the back – ended up with much swapping of details, but no injuries. And Hammond came off least worse being at the back.

Ford Escort returns – for China: Shanghai Motor Show

Sun, 21 Apr 2013

The Ford Escort Concept has been built by Ford with the aim of taking a sizeable chunk of China’s compact saloon market – estimated at 5.5 million sales a year – and looks remarkably production viable and far from ‘budget’. Escort is a badge China knows – there are plenty of old Escorts floating around Chinese roads – so it’s a sensible move by Ford to revive a badge that already resonates as a compact, affordable saloon with Chinese car buyers. This new Escort gets a proper version of Ford’s latest design language – including the Aston Martin grill – and has good lines and strong detail including jeweled headlights with the lucky Chinese ’8′ discernible ; it looks entirely cohesive and nothing like a Focus with a boot grafted on.
