Item is the 1948 Planning Automobile Dealer Properties.  Produced by the Service Section of the General Motors Corporation this 142-page hardcover book measures 13 11/16 x 10 5/16 inches.  “Planning Automobile Dealer Properties” summarizes the results of an extensive research activity which was undertaken to assist car and truck dealers to more effectively utilize land and buildings in selling and servicing motor vehicles.   The book was prepared in response to requests from car and truck dealers for assistance in planning their properties.

This is a presentation of ideas rather than plans.   Planning based on ideas looks forward.  It seeks new layout and styling that will keep property functional and modern as far into the future as a current knowledge of business permits.  This book is divided into two parts: Part One – Unit Planning; and Part Two – Problems, Plans and Perspectives.

This is not a reproduction or a reprint – but a rare and unique piece worth adding to your automotive literature collection.

While overall condition of this 68-year old book is very good, the back cover has sustained some storage, rip and tear damage.  This damage does not in any way affect the overall usefulness of the book.
