The car has a red, white and gold color scheme said to be inspired by a costume Mercury wore during his 1986 Magic Tour, along with badges of the singer’s signature and silhouette. Wed, 20 Jul 2011Auction house Gooding & Co. will offer up two legendary sports-racing cars--a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Prototype and a 1963 Shelby Cobra 289 Factory Team Car, one of which might set a record price for a car sold at auction--at Gooding's sale Aug. 20-21 during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Tue, 25 Oct 2011Exotic-car tuner Underground Racing from North Carolina prepared a Ferrari 458 Italia with a “bolt-on” twin-turbo system, boosting engine output to 700 hp. For comparison, the tuner matched the blown Ferrari against a Lamborghini LP-700-4 Aventador and its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, rated at 700 hp. “We were interested to see how they stacked up against each other after seeing a twin-turbo Gallardo almost get beat by an Aventador,” Underground Racing president Kevin Howeth said.
