1949 El Panhead Basket Case!! Matching 49" Frame And Motor!! No Reserve!!! on 2040-parts.com

for sale is a 1949 harley panhead wishbone frame and matching '49 engine. THE FRAME: the frame is a late 1949 frame, due to the fact that the two front down tubes have flat spots for where the horn would originally go, in earlier '49 frames the down tubes had tabs welded to the frame for the horn to be attached. the frame is perfectly straight with no cracks, dings, welds. sidecar loops perfectly intact. there are two tabs missing on the frame one on the top of the top motor mount and the other on the neck which would hole the original speedo dashboard. both tabs can be bought for extremely cheap through v-twin or the manufacturer of your choice. all numbers and markings on the frame are intact and have pictures of all. email me if necessary. THE GAS TANK PICTURED IS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE SALE. IT WAS A PAIR OF BOB TANKS NARROWED AND WELDED TOGETHER. THE MOTOR: the motor is a '49 EL 61" panhead. the left engine case had a crack near the timing inspection hole (very common) back in 2001 and was repaired at bills custom cycles in PA. the repair is of excellent quality and couldn't ask for a better job, i also have the receipt for the repair if needed. no right case comes with the motor but all right case parts are here. the flywheels are original fitted with new jims pinion, sprocket and crank shaft. the pinion and sprocket shaft are later model harley that accept timken bearings (keeps vibration, stability of flywheels and reliability in tact). new Carrillo H-Beam rods with new rod bearing cages and rollers. comes with rebuilt harley oil pump. in the cam compartment everything is new included breather, idler, pinion, and cam (slightly above stock performance) gears and all bearings(upgraded to torrington) washers, snap rings etc... original tappet guides and new replacement tappets. cam cover is off a '55 which i removed the ribs for a smoother look. the way i like to build my motors is have everything on the outside be original and period correct and the internals new and upgraded to prevent any problems or just for better reliability, over the years products have gotten better then back in 1949. cylinders are original but need to be honed and fitted to new pistons (not included). heads are original and to be honest haven't touched them but they do need some work (missing two fins) they are fitted with original valve springs and valves. all bolts are new for the motor including timing hole and drain bolts. what you see in the picture is what you get. there are a couple parts missing but not much at all, a right side case, some pistons, pushrods, and rebuilt heads and your good to go.
