1949 Gmc 150 Series Bench Seat Core - Skirt Frame 47 ? 48 51 ? 53 ? 3/4 Chevy on 2040-parts.com
Newport, New York, United States
Offered is an original (?) bench seat and its slide adjuster mechanism removed from a 1948 -50 GMC 3/4 ton truck. May fit other others? Chevies ? 47-53 ? 1/2 tons ? As always please do your own checking / research...will do my best to take any specific measurements and/or other photos. MOUNTING BASE -- Mounting base is not offered at this point. It is presently still spot-welded to the floor / body of the donor and would need to be Sawz-alled out. Will be extra cost if base is needed. please ask... RECOVERED ONCE ALREADY ? Could be mistaken but seat appears to have one of those quicky "once over recovers" many, many years ago....directly over the original factory fabric. It has an really rough looking metal band that is crimped/cleated around its bottom edge .....to hold the secondary cover on (3rd from last pic) SKIRTS - corner / end skirts are banged/bent up some. ADJUSTER MECHANISM - I believe it's all there but not sure it works. While removing the seat from the donor I mistakenly loosened the cushion frame bolts from the spring tensioned adjusted mechanism and the cables & springs popped off their respective pulleys ....have not had the time/ patience to reassemble and test. CUSHION SPRINGS AND CUSHION FRAME CORROSION - Generally in really good shape but as with most old cushions there are a few bad frame spots/coil springs that will need to be fixed. BUILD SHEET REMNANTS - There are remnants build sheet..in a few pieces. Found a date (at the bottom corner of company form sheet) of Dec. 1948 so guessing the actual seat was built some time after that..... in'49 or '50 ? SEAT BELT ALTERATION - someone has added a seat belt anchor brackets (2) for the driver only...one on the left rear corner and the buckle clip nearer the center. Donor serial # " FC152238** " Local pick-up only. (seat is extremely heavy/awkward...guessing 100-125 pounds) Will do my best to answer any questions or concerns and thank you for looking.... |

Reliant 'Rugged Robin' is ready for battle
Thu, 28 Jun 2012The Reliant Robin has a loyal cult following that is characterized mainly by racing and funky paint jobs, but one man in England has taken the task of defending the Robin's honor to a whole new level. Bernard Reeves of East Sussex in the United Kingdom told the Daily Mail that he got fed up with Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson's ridicule of the Robin, most notably in a film containing footage of Clarkson rolling a Robin multiple times before pushing it into a canal. If Reeves has a grudge against people who poke fun of Robins on a regular basis, we'd suspect that Mr.
