Designed at Ford's California-based Strategic Concept Group under the direction of Freeman Thomas, the concept demonstrates that a compact car can also be pragmatic and functional. DS5 stars in Citroën cinemagraphs

The subtly moving images are an evolution of the traditional .gif file, and were created by automotive photographer James Lipman and design agency TIZA Creative. Designed to capture the personality and presence of the DS5, the hi-res moving images are a first in the Automotive PR industry - they have been used on various blogs and photography sites for some time now.

A paddleshift DSG-equipped three-door example has lapped the 12-mile lap in 7min 58.44sec – smashing the previous record of 8min 7.97sec, held by the Renaultsport Megane Trophy. It's a slap in Honda's face too: the Japanese maker wanted its new Civic Type-R to be the first sub-8min hatch.
