It's unfortunate that e-bay, despite touting the importance of providing pictures to buyers, limits sellers to 12 pictures. I would like to have put up at least twice as many to show off these heads. When I bought the heads and had all the machine work done my intention was to put them on my Shovelhead, nose cone lower end. Since then I broke a leg in 3 places that refused to heal properly and left me barely able to use it; therefore, I'm parting out my project to use the money for a trike or something. I'm 68 years old and have built and rode Harley Panhead hardtail choppers all of my adult life. It's nearly impossible to find decent panhead cylinder heads, let alone a perfect matching pair machined and ready to run. The heads can be used with the stock inside oiling system (1948-63);( in 1964-65 Panheads had outside oilers), by capping the outside oiler port and removing the setscrew in the inside oil passage; however the outside oilers are far superior. The outside oilers make it possible to run these heads on any panhead or shovelhead lower end, with panhead cylinders. 1948-63 Panheads can run the outside oilers by drilling and tapping the timing cover into its oil passage and installing a fitting. We used to do that in the day when we put shovelheads on the old Panhead engines-the Pan/ shovel engine was born! Whoever wins these heads will be well satisfied with their appearance and performance. The hard and expensive work is done and they can be yours to enjoy for many years. Earlier this month we reported that Fiat were heading to the Geneva Motor Show in March with a new compact MPV – the Fiat Elle-Zero, which they are. But instead of using the code name for the new mini MPV as the production moniker, they’ve decided the new car will join the 500 family as the Fiat 500L.
Ford to add 1,200 jobs at Chicago plant to build 2011 Explorer
Mon, 25 Jan 2010Ford plans to add 1,200 jobs when it begins making the Explorer sport-utility vehicle later this year in Chicago. The announcement is expected Tuesday morning at the plant. Plans to bring the Explorer from Louisville, Ky., to the underutilized Chicago plant have been known for nearly a year.
