The listing is for a hood rocket ornament that should fit 1950 Oldsmobile 98 and 1951 Oldsmobile 88 and 98.  The number on the rocket is 560355 and on the base is 561063 AC.  The base is 16 1/4" tip to tip and the rocket is 12" long. The distance between the mounting bolts is 4" and between the two rectangular pins on each side is 4 5/16".  The chrome is in nice driver condition with a good shine, but has some light pitting in a few spots.  All pins and studs are in place.  It is in good driver condition but has two problems.  The end of the top fin is broken and there is one small crack on the inside of the right front spar that mounts to the hood.  See the pictures.  Call Bill at 916-817-4870 for additional information.

Mazda's aim this time was to strip away much of the bulk that had accumulated over the years, recapturing the essence of a compact, light and affordable roadster. The subtext is that the MX-5 Miata has become a car more often bought by women in their 60s, rather than the young males it was originally intended for.

The Toyota Prius MPV Facebook Tease We reported back in May that Toyota were finally going to produce a Toyota Prius MPV – probably with an extra row of seats – in 2011. Which looks to be on the money if the photo above, which has turned up on the Toyota Prius Facebook page today, is anything to go by. The photo seems to make it clear that even though Toyota are using the tag line “The Prius family is getting a whole lot bigger” we should sensibly conclude that the biggest bit of bigger is that there will be an MPV and a plug-in.

Ford Fiesta not yet in dealerships; dealers and customers get antsy

The new Ford Fiesta small car is either right on schedule or a few weeks late, depending on who's talking. Ford says the car is on schedule for a promised “summer” launch. Ford is shipping the cars this week from an assembly plant in Mexico.
