1951 1952 PLYMOUTH HUBCAP

HERE'S SOMETHING THAT IS HARD TO FIND YET REASONABLY PRICED.   WE JUST NEVER FIND THESE CAPS. THE FIRST WE HAVE FOUND IN MANY YEARS.  SERIOUSLY.  THIS IS IMPORTANT...PLEASE USE THE ZOOM FEATURE ON THE PICS AND READ ALL OF THE DESCRIPTION.  ONE CAP IS INCLUDED.

I COMPARED THIS TO OTHER NICER 51 PLYMOUTH CAPS WE HAVE LISTED AND THE CENTER EMBLEM IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT THAN THOSE.  VERY MUCH THE SAME BUT MUCH LESS DEFINED.  IT DEFINITELY APPEARS AS THOUGH IT WAS MANUFACTURED BACK IN THE DAY AND FROM WHAT I CAN TELL IS AN ORIGINAL.  KEEP IN MIND THAT IN THIS ERA THERE WERE DIFFERENT QUALITY STANDARDS AND MANUFACTURING STANDARDS, LET ALONE THE FACT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE SUPPLIERS.

ANYWAY, ON TO THE DESCRIPTION. IT IS A FAIRLY DECENT OLD HUBCAP NOT A SHOW CAP IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM.  THERE IS SOME DAMAGE ON THE SIDE WHERE IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THERE WAS A CURB RUBBED AND OTHER LITTLE DINGS AND SCRATCHES.  OBVIOUSLY THERE IS ALSO PAINT WEAR.   LOOK TO MAKE SURE THE CAPS ARE RIGHT FOR YOUR APPLICATION BEFORE BIDDING! PLEASE.  JUST AN INEXPENSIVE OLD CAP FOR THE OLD HOTROD MISSING ONE.  ON A SCALE OF 1-5 WITH 5 AS THE HIGH, I RATE IT A 2, BASED ON AGE, RARITY AND CONDITION.  PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICS CAREFULLY.

ONE OTHER COMMENT, WE SPENT SEVERAL WEEKENDS AT SOME OF THE LARGEST SWAP MEETS IN THE MIDWEST.  HUNDREDS OF VENDORS, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND NONE OF THESE!  TAKE A CLOSE LOOK.

I try to be honest about what I sell.  Almost all of these old hubcaps have imperfections.  Unless you are willing to spend hundreds for a set the best you can do are look for those in decent shape which these are.

WE SHIP ALL OVER THE WORLD

These old car parts are becoming more and more scarce.  After 10 years of selling over a 8000 items we've come to this conclusion.   If we can't sell the parts for a reasonable price, we're going to warehouse them. This is especially true of the nice parts and more unusual parts.  All they can do is go up in value.  Our point is this.  We've got the space and the means to collect and store what we sell.  Having said that don't be surprised if we run an item only once or twice and if it doesn't sell it doesn't show back up.  Please don't misunderstand us.  We want and do appreciate your business.  It just doesn't make sense to us to spend time and money relisting items over and over when almost all of these parts have only one way to go in the future.  UP.

PLEASE NOTE:  DUE TO SEVERAL NON-PAYERS WE HAVE ADDED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT MEANT FOR THOSE TYPE OF BIDDERS.  WHILE THE VAST MAJORITY OF BUYERS PAY FOR WHAT THEY BID ON, WE HAVE RECENTLY SEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN UNPAID ITEMS.  SO>>>IF YOU PLAN ON BIDDING PLEASE PLAN ON PAYING.   THANKS.  HAPPY BIDDING.

Saturn has interested buyers, GM says

Fri, 06 Mar 2009

Saturn is attracting interest from a "few" parties that might want to acquire the brand, a General Motors spokesman said Thursday. GM has hired Steve Girsky, formerly senior auto analyst for Morgan Stanley, to help advise on any possible Saturn deals. Saturn spokesman Steve Janisse said, "There is interest from investors in doing a spinoff, and there are other entities interested in just buying it." He said he does not know whether the interested parties are other automakers.

Latest news: what Magna's deal means for GM Europe By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 29 May 2009 19:31 Canadian parts giant Magna this afternoon struck an agreement in principle to buy stricken GM's European arm, Opel and Vauxhall. The agreement has not yet been confirmed publicly and is still in the early phase, but brings to an end an uncomfortable round of talks in the past 48 hours which saw a spat between American negotiators and European politicians, and Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne walking away from the table.Once sealed, the deal must first be approved by the German government, which is to provide interim funding to the new owners. However, Italian car maker Fiat isn't yet totally ruled out of the running, as Magna's chief exec earlier today intimated that he could be interested in cooperation.CAR Online will update with the latest developments as they happen.

Ford S-Max  Following the unveiling of the SAV concept at Geneva last year comes the production version, the S-MAX. Sharing much in common with the new Galaxy, the S-Max aims to have greater dynamic appeal and retain a closer connection with Ford of Europe's 'Kinetic Design' ethos. Differences include the dropping window-line that pushes back to form a triangular D-pillar and round fog lamps at the front.
