A look at the Ford Mustang Boss builders
Fri, 03 Jun 2011Ford on Friday offered a glimpse of its assembly process for the Mustang Boss 302S race car by hosting a tour of the Niche Build Line adjacent to the Mustang assembly plant in Flat Rock, Mich. The Niche Build Line, when not assembling race cars, is where prototype vehicles are assembled prior to full production. Mustang bodies-in-white are first taken to an outside vendor, where roll cages are installed.
Volvo's autonomous car is boring enough to work
Fri, 16 May 2014Volvo is a bit of an enigma. The Chinese-owned Swedish automaker releases a stunning concept from time to time, and we're often pleasantly surprised by the Volvos that enter out test fleet, but it hasn't done much to generate sales numbers -- or buzz -- in the North American market. 2012 Audi R8 facelift, more power & S-tronic ‘box
Tue, 26 Jul 2011Audi R8 getting a facelift - and more power - in 2012 The supercar with a mainstream car maker’s badge attached that is the Audi R8 has been something of a success as a halo car for the Audi range since it arrived in V8 form in 2007 (well, probably 2008 by the time most customer cars turned up). Since the original V8 R8 arrived we’ve had an absolute deluge – in supercar terms – of R8 models from Audi including the R8 V8, R8 V8 Spyder, R8 V10, R8 V10 Spyder and the rather costly R8 GT and R8 GT Spyder. But through that time the engines – apart from in the R8 GT – have remained the same, as has the woeful R-Tronic gearbox.
