Britain to be third global production site for the Nissan Leaf EV after Japan, U.S.
Thu, 18 Mar 2010Nissan Motor Co. said it will build the new Leaf electric vehicle at Britain's Sunderland assembly plant starting in early 2013, with initial capacity of 50,000 units. The Japanese company and its French alliance partner Renault will invest more than $642.6 million in the project, including the construction of a lithium ion battery plant on the site.

An internal memo distributed this week directs workers to use the official name in all communications, from official duties to simple conversations.
Toyota prices RAV4 EV at $50,610 before tax incentives

The crossover will carry a sticker price of $50,610 including an $810 destination charge but before available tax incentives of $2,500 in California and $7,500 at the federal level.
