Cameras to catch illegal parking on the school run

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Schools and councils across the country are turning to CCTV to enforce parking restrictions during the school run – and a new low-cost camera system is set to make this even easier in the coming months. According to reports in the Sunday Times and the Daily Mail, the new surveillance system costs as little as £16,000, and is able to record and recognise the number plates of illegally parked cars outside schools. On Bing: see pictures of parking enforcement cameras How to appeal a parking ticket The recorded footage is then sent to the local council, including evidence of the parking restriction.

Mercedes-Benz replaces CLK with E-class coupe

Tue, 17 Feb 2009

After a 12-year run and more than 460,000 sales across two generations, Mercedes-Benz has replaced the CLK with the 2010 E-class coupe. Debuting at next month's Geneva motor show and with U.S. sales slated to begin in June, the upmarket two-door represents a departure from its predecessor not only in name but also on a technical basis, switching from the old C-class platform to a modified version of the structure that underpins the recently revealed E-class sedan.

Kia Ray Concept at Chicago Motor Show

Thu, 21 Jan 2010

But despite Chicago being a lower key affair than Detroit they will still get their share of new stuff. Well, not necessarily new (we reported that North America gets the BMW Alpina B7 which will debut at Chicago) but certainly new to the US.
