1953-1954 Chevrolet pass or Pontiac Pass rear leaf spring silencer. Used to keep the leaf spring quiet.

plastic insert, GM # 3699910 -  GR.7.495  This reproduction part was made in Canada.

This listing is for one complete set of 12 inserts. A set of 12 is enough for one car. I have lowered the price.

The last picture is an original silencer that was used to make these. It is not included.

Installation: is quite easy, according to the shop manual. Using a heavy screw driver pry the leaf springs apart near the ends. Place the new silencer pad between the leafs. The square boss on the pad fits into a square hole in the leaf.

It appears these can also be used for 55-57 Chevrolets. The parts book says the 5-6-7 ones are compatable with 53-54. From pictures of 5-6-7 spring silencers they appear to be similar. Old aftermarket OEM types also list them as compatable. 5-6-7 Pontiacs may be the same? I'll try to find out.

I have been informed that these are very similar to the 1968 Camaro leaf silencer. (Thank you Tony) The outer dimension is a little smaller on these ones I have. If anyone knows the Camaro dimensions please let me know.

Mercedes Electric Drive B-Class at Paris 2012

Mon, 17 Sep 2012

Mercedes has revealed an electric version of the new B-Class – the B-Class Electric Drive Concept – which will debut at Paris 2012. Mercedes has revealed the electric B-Class in the guise of the B-Class Electric Drive Concept – a name Mercedes say will find its way on to the boot of all electric Mercedes, Smart and Tesla cars – which previews a production version by 2014. Powering the B-Class Electric Drive is the Smart electric Drive powerplant, located in the space normally taken up by the ICE, which offers 134bhp and a healthy 228lb/ft of torque with the batteries to power the electric motor housed in what Mercedes are calling the B-Class’s Energy space ahead of the rear axle.

Vauxhall Adam (& Opel Adam): GM’s new ‘MINI’ in Europe

Tue, 08 May 2012

It's the Vauxhall Adam - name after Adam Opel GM’s MINI rivalling new small car for Europe will be the Vauxhall Adam, an odd name to celebrate the founder of Opel. It’s been known as the Opel ‘Junior’ (and, of course, Vauxhall ‘Junior’ for the UK) as it’s been blatting round roads camouflaged with swirly paint and bolt-on panels. But now it has a name, and the name is Adam (we also got the Adam ‘writing’ out its own name on the roads of Frankfurt in a rather odd introduction to the new ‘Mini’ car – video below).

Spyker stretches the C8 Laviolette to make the Spyker C8 Aileron

Wed, 04 Mar 2009

But those problems faded last year when Spyker got solid investment from a Russian banker. Which means Spyker can once more push forward after a period of struggle, although what impact the crisis engulfing the car market in general will have is anybody’s guess. Spyker C8 Aileron - a stretched C8 Laviolette We had half expected the story at Geneva for Spyker to be the reveal of the Spyker SUV – the Spyker D12 Peking-Paris – in something close to production ready state.
