Google Glasses driver has ticket torn up

An American driver who was fined for driving while wearing Google Glasses has had the ticket torn up. Cecilia Abadie was stopped by police in California who said the Google Glass digital spectacles fell foul of laws banning drivers from watching TV when behind the wheel. Feds: Backup cameras in all new cars by 2018

The U.S. Department of Transportation today finalized a set of federal standards for rear visibility that will require all new vehicles under 10,000 pounds to have backup cameras by mid-2018. Congress called for the rules in 2008 after a spate of accidents in which parents driving cars or trucks backed over their young children, killing them.

Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger recalled to fix electric problem

Chrysler is recalling almost 120,000 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans from the 2011 and 2012 model years to fix an electrical-system problem. The problem is with a fuse in the power-distribution center, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the power center overheats it could lead to a loss of antilock brakes and electronic stability control, which could lead to a crash.
