1953 GMC TRUCK: MODEL: Model 101-22 Panel Truck WEIGHT: 3,550 LBS. WHEELBASE: 116 IN. TIRES: 16 IN. TYPE OF ENGINE: Overhead Valve Inline NO. CYL.: Six DISPLACEMENT: 228 CU. IN. BORE: 3-9/16 IN. STROKE: 3-3/4 IN. ORIG. PRICE: $1,565.98 (standard body) This modified panel truck started life as a U.S. Navy vehicle. The special body features side windows and an oak partition with a bi-fold door and sliding window. Navy surveying teams used it around San Francisco. The rear has custom-made tool compartments and bench seats for a crew of workers. In 1965, it was purchased by a school district as a custodian's truck and remainedin service for 15 additional years.
