A look at GMC future products

In coming months, GMC will be working to reignite sales growth for its popular crossovers. After that, its focus will be on the next generation of its highest-volume vehicle: the Sierra pickup. The Acadia full-sized crossover will be restyled with extensive interior upgrades when it goes on sale in late fall.

New VW Golf BlueMotion: Paris 2012

Volkswagen has revealed the MK 7 version of the Golf Bluemotion in Paris, offering 88.3mpg and 85g/km emissions. Volkswagen are billing the Golf BlueMotion as a concept, but it’s heading for production and is expected to offer the same emissions and economy figures as the BlueMotion Concept – 88.3mpg and 85g/km. That makes it 15 per cent more efficient than the outgoing BlueMotion.

The 500-hp club: The room is getting crowded

At a time when fuel economy counts for just about everything, there's still a horsepower war raging in the United States. The number of fire-breathing wedge-shaped supercars and hot sedans and coupes that can pump out 500 hp or better has nearly doubled in the past five years to more than 70. A decade ago there were just two members of the 500 hp club in the United States: the Ferrari 575M and Lamborghini Murcielago.
