Hyundai has revealed it has now built more than a million i30s with European sales accounting for 500,000 of those sales. Get over the latent badge snoberry and the Hyundai i30 is a family car that can be considered a real alternative to the leading cars in its sector – the VW Golf and Ford Focus – with a good combination of style, equipment, decent driving dynamics and cost. Top 10 car adverts revealed

THE UK’s favourite television car advertisements have been revealed and Honda has grabbed the top two places. Its Hands advert was an easy winner with more than 12 million views, followed by the Japanese firm’s An Impossible Made Possible ad in second spot. Third place went to one of two Chevrolet adverts in the top 10 with the American company’s Outstanding Design ad in third followed by its LifeTest promotion in fourth.

IAM offers advice for windy driving

ROAD SAFETY charity the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) is offering advice to drivers on coping with windy weather, as more inclement weather sweeps across the country. Peter Rodger, the IAM's chief examiner, has offered the following tips for driving in high winds: Plan your journey – is there a route with less exposure to the weather and less risk of fallen trees? Choose a sheltered route if you have the option.
