1954 Studebaker Commander 259 Engine & Transmission 38K Running Complete Motor

Yes, a complete and running Studebaker Commander Motor, Transmission and complete carb setup with air filter for a starting bid of $400.  My buddy has moved and his garage is full of automotive nick nacks, paddywhackers and dodads that must go and, hence, a great deal for someone who is looking for a low mileage motor for their project.  It's a 259 V-8 and what you see in the pictures will be exactly what you get.  Quite honestly, the air cleaner alone, which is in near perfect shape is worth the opening bid, so it's like getting an engine and transmission for free.  I'm only going to put this motor up for bid once and it's going to sell to the high bidder with no reserve.  If you're serious about this setup and you want to talk to my buddy, contact me ASAP, as he is an extremely busy person and it may take a day or so to reach him.  Feel free to contact me if you want to set up an appointment to come by Gary's and take a look at the motor in person.  Sorry, there is no way for me to start it up, so you'll just have to trust him that it ran before it was placed on the crate in his garage.  However, feel free to check my 2,400 all positive comments under my smileylink eBay ID, as I've been selling on eBay for decades and trust Gary to be as honest as they come in life.  Please check with your significant other and have funds available to either pick it up and pay cash or send me a Paypal payment.

Please keep in mind that this auction is a real auction and your bid is a binding agreement to purchase the motor with no exceptions.  This is a pickup item only and you must move the engine and transmission yourself, so be ready with a jack and cherry picker.  Gary and I may be of some help, but please understand that we're old farts without a ton of muscle (Sorry Gary!).  Also, if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask and I'll do my best to offer an answer and always post them, as I understand there are Studebaker collectors out there who can often be of great help to all who are interested in the motor.

Subaru’s seven-seat Exiga (2008): first pictures

Tue, 17 Jun 2008

By Ben Whitworth First Official Pictures 17 June 2008 12:08 This is the Exiga, Subaru’s rather straightlaced seven-seat people carrier, designed to bridge the gap between the current Legacy and Tribeca. Based on existing Legacy architecture, the Exiga has a long 2750mm wheelbase, and at 4750mm long, 1775mm wide and 1660mm high, it’s roughly the same size as Ford’s S-Max. There’s a choice of two engines – both 2.0-litre petrols and both flat fours.

Maserati Wins Style Shoot-Out At 2014 Goodwood Festival Of Speed

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

MULTIPLE world rally winner Sebastien Loeb wasn’t the one to leave Goodwood’s Festival of Speed smiling. And while he might have been the fastest up the hill, he wasn’t judged ‘best in show’. That title went to a particular Maserati A6 CGS Berlinetta, which was entered in the Festival’s traditional ‘style-et-luxe’ concours d’elegance event.

Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept revealed

Wed, 30 Sep 2009

The Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept will be at the Tokyo Motor Show The Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept has the usual flights of fancy, like double-length gullwing doors and a motorised dash that moves up and down to give thr driver the best view ahead. But if you ignore the obvious concept bits, the Tourer looks very close to a new Subaru model. Powered by a 2.0 litre turbo-charged Boxer engine, the Hybrid Tourer also gets a pair of electric motors and a CVT ‘box (shame on the CVT.
