New Jeep Grand Cherokee (2011): UK Price & Models
Tue, 28 Jun 20112011 Jeep Grand Cherokee UK - Diesel only Interestingly, the pile of blurb we got in from Jeep UK on the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee made the assertion that Jeep “…invented the premium SUV (sport-utility vehicle) segment with the introduction of the Jeep Grand Cherokee.” Really? Still, we have a soft-spot for the big Yank-Tank that is the Jeep Grand Cherokee so we’ll put that statement down to nothing more than a bit of PR hubris, rather than a genuine claim. Opel Ampera preview
Tue, 27 Jan 2009Opel has released a teaser sketch of its new five-door extended-range electric car ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March. Based on the Voltec powertrain and chassis architecture of Chevrolet's Volt, the Ampera promises to surpass that car in terms of style by some margin. The body appears to be nearly identical between the A- and C-pillars, but the deformed horseshoe-shaped headlamp design and two-bar grille come straight from the 2007 Flextreme concept, as do the car's tree-branch alloy wheels.
BMW Adds Two New Exhibits to Museum
Tue, 13 Oct 2009BMW added two new exhibits to its Museum in Munich, Germany this past weekend, designed to showcase the automakers forward thinking ambitions towards lightweight, efficient vehicles. Called the Simple and Clever concepts, the three wheeled urban contraptions were designed as a research exercise to make maneuvering in urban areas easier and more energy efficient. The Simple concept - an acronym of the project name 'sustainable and innovative mobility product for low energy consumption' - combines features and advantages from both automobiles and motorcycles and is powered by a 36kW combustion engine and an electric motor.
